Welcome!
Welcome! I’m Kathleen!
I’m an Orton-Gillingham practitioner (A/OGOA) and reading interventionist specializing in dyslexia and other reading difficulties. I started Soaring Readers because I believe every child deserves to feel confident when they open a book — not anxious, not behind, not “bad at reading.” Just capable.
If your child is struggling, you’re not alone. Up to 60% of children have difficulty reading proficiently, including many with dyslexia — and the good news is, most children can learn to read confidently and successfully with the right kind of instruction: explicit, systematic, and tailored to how your child actually learns.
That’s why every lesson weaves together the five pillars of literacy — phonemic awareness, phonics (reading and spelling), fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension — so your child builds real, well-rounded literacy skills, not just the ability to sound out words.
Progress looks different for every child, and no matter the pace, each step forward is worth celebrating.
Reading is a right, not a privilege — let’s help your child get there.
Every child can learn to read
We’re passionate about reading and we provide a safe space for all children.
